What Is New?

It is hoped that this site will be one you will want to return to regularly as your first resource about Michigan's role in the American Civil War. We add information almost daily! This page will help those of you who are returning friends and want to see what is new.

January 10	Started a page for the letters of John Hough, a member of the 1st Engineers and Mechanics. We have been allowed to publish the transcripts of his family's collection of 15 of his letters. Find them in the John Hough page. The Did You Know section is updated on the front page.

September 6	Added a new book about the Michigan Cavalry Brigade in the Books page. Started a re-organization of the Books page. Added a battle to and changed the name of the Monterey Pass to Falling Waters page to encompass more clashes at the end of the Gettysburg Campaign. Added a book link in the 1st Michigan Cavalry page. Multiple images of two historic sites in Monroe added to the Monuments page. Added a new library to the Archives page.
September 5	Added several new photos on our Monuments page detailing the first of several sites we've photographed in Monroe, MI. This on is all the monuments and markers in Soldier's and Sailor's Park.
